Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Electrical Team Lead & Project Manager with a strong background in automotive electrical systems. This role involves leading a team of engineers, managing multiple projects, and ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation of electrical systems in our automotive products. The ideal candidate will have expertise in schematic design, wire harness development, embedded system design, hardware integration, and experience with firmware and PCBA migration.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring clear communication and efficient workflow.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to support professional growth.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineering, software development, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.

Electrical Design & Development:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical schematics, wire harnesses, embedded systems, and hardware components for automotive applications.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in automotive electrical systems.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and test plans.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during the design, prototyping, and production phases.
  • Lead firmware development and PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) migration efforts.

Embedded System Design:

  • Oversee the development and integration of embedded systems in automotive applications.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, simulation, and analysis of embedded systems.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of embedded systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, and communication protocols.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors to select and source electrical components and materials.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize the design for assembly and production.
  • Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure all electrical and embedded systems meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain design verification and validation processes.
  • Oversee testing and validation of electrical and embedded systems to ensure reliability and performance.

Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in automotive electrical engineering, with a focus on schematic design, wire harness development, embedded system design, hardware integration, and firmware and PCBA migration.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership or project management role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in electrical schematic design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Mentor Graphics).
  • Experience with wire harness design tools (e.g., Zuken E3.series, Capital VEC).
  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems, embedded systems, components, and industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262, SAE J1939).
  • Hands-on experience with hardware development and integration, including PCB design and EMI/EMC considerations.
  • Expertise in embedded system design, including microcontrollers, communication protocols (e.g., CAN, LIN), and real-time operating systems.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for system modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Experience with firmware development and PCBA migration.

Leadership & Management Skills:

  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers.
  • Excellent project management skills, including experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
