Job Title:Solar Drafting Engineer (Rooftop & Ground Mount Projects)

Job Overview:

We are seeking two motivated and skilled Solar Drafting Assistants to support our design and engineering teams in delivering high-quality solar rooftop and ground-mounted projects. The ideal candidates should possess strong technical skills in solar drafting, with a particular focus on AutoCAD, and demonstrate a willingness to work closely with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities:

– Drafting and Design Support:

– Develop accurate and detailed solar rooftop and ground-mount system layouts, designs, and schematics using AutoCAD.

– Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to interpret project specifications and incorporate technical details into solar designs.

– Ensure that all drawings are compliant with industry standards, safety codes, and regulations.

– Site Surveys & Data Collection:

– Participate in site surveys to gather on-site measurements, evaluate installation feasibility, and collect data needed for design execution.

– Work alongside the design team to integrate site-specific information, shading analysis, and other technical factors into final drafts.

– Collaboration and Communication:

– Liaise with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that designs are executed according to client specifications and project requirements.

– Provide design documentation and technical support to field teams during installation.

– Software Proficiency:

– Utilize AutoCAD as the primary tool for producing detailed solar PV system drawings.

– Familiarity with Google SketchUp for 3D visualization and conceptual designs is an added advantage.

– Documentation and Reporting:

– Maintain accurate project documentation, including design revisions, installation drawings, and technical reports.

– Assist in preparing and organizing project files and design documentation for client handovers and internal records.

– Technology and Tools:

– Ensure proficient use of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to support project reporting, data tracking, and presentation preparation.

– Stay updated with the latest drafting tools and technology relevant to solar PV systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

– Educational Background:

– ITI/Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

– Experience:

– 1-2 years of hands-on experience in solar drafting for rooftop and/or ground-mounted projects.

– Technical Skills:

– Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential for producing detailed and accurate system designs.

– Knowledge of Google SketchUp is a plus but not mandatory.

– Familiarity with PV Syst or similar solar design software is advantageous.

– Additional Skills:

– Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality drafts under time constraints.

– Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

– Willingness to travel to project sites for surveys and data collection.
