JR52402 Principal Engineer, SSD System Design
Micron is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate engineer to join our growing SSD System Engineering team, which is key to our Client & Consumer SSD development and validation process, ensuring our products launch on time and are outstanding in their segment. You will collaborate across-site with R&D, System architecture, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing, and other engineering groups along with vendors to ensure best outcomes.
Responsibilities
Technical Ownership
- You are a technical authority in the program guiding engineering teams and provide updates on development progress and technical issue resolution to the upper management.
- Be the Technical interface to other internal engineering team/ functions within Micron, vendors, Marketing, FAE, and End customers.
- Be the GO TO person on industry new technologies in the team
- Articulate and provide technical path to implement complex system requirements from customers after detailed analysis of the existing systems.
Requirements Analysis
- Responsible on assessment of product Requirements and features and finalize the same with the SBU
- Review and challenge product feature/ implementation proposals, product change request and work through stakeholders to assess and bring them to closure.
- Asses product requirements to influence hardware design and suggest path on Design for Testability.
- Feedback & influence product design on the definition and implementation of new requirements/ performances
Technical Program Management
- Work with the Technical Program Managers in generating schedules for product delivery after considering functional team deliverables and maintains an overall program schedule
- Responsible to Deliver the product to the BU meeting TSM objectives and manufacturing guidelines.
- Works with Business Unit Core Team, and Product Development, Engineering interface for technical customer issues and questions
Influence process
- Conduct Lessons Learned, FMEA’s, Failure analysis and Design reviews during product development.
- Responsible for generating and updating design process and product design documents
- Works with Business Unit Core Team, and Product Development, Engineering interface for technical customer issues and questions
- Constantly evaluate, refine and improvise processes/methodologies related to design, validation, production and other areas
Test Implementation
- Reviews and recommends HW Validation and characterization methodologies and process keeping Firmware and software dependency in mind.
- Drives the maturity of FW and SW which influence HW output and performance during execution by effectively collaborating and representing the team in various forums.
Production And Field Support
Work with production teams to influence manufacturing.
Partner with factory to resolve any production gating issue.
Work with the field to drive and resolve any field related issue from customers.
Qualifications And Skills/ Capabilities
- BE with 15 + years or MTech with 12 + years in Computer science, electronics/ electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience in leading engineering resources on NPD and system level debug.
- Knowledge of NAND/SSD along with good understanding of protocols PCIe & NVME.
- Good understanding of product storage interface specifications, and their implementation.
- Exposure to Hardware design, High Speed designs, ability to read and understand FW and SW from system architecture perspective.
- Ability to analyze problems, diagnose to root cause, and apply corrective actions
- Ability to mentor and guide
