Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer specializing in Battery Management Systems (BMS) for Electric Vehicle (EV) applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, testing, and optimizing BMS hardware components to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our EV battery systems.

Key / Mandatory Skills to have:
  • Proficiency in Schematic CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout (e.g., ORCAD, Altium Designer, Cadence).
  • Good understanding of Analog and digital circuit design, embedded systems, and power electronics.
  • Good Understanding of Micro Controllers, Contactors, Fuses, other electrical components related to automotive industry
  • Good knowledge on selection criteria of Electrical components like Relay, Fuses, Resistors, etc. based on their functionality which are all related and used EV industry
  • Good knowledge in Conduct schematic capture, PCB layout, and design verification testing (DVT) for BMS hardware
  • Perform analog and digital circuit design, simulation, and analysis to optimize BMS hardware performance.
  • Implement battery cell monitoring, balancing algorithms, and fault detection mechanisms within BMS hardware
  • Good Knowledge on Cable and busbar Selections based on the power requirements
  • Understanding with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) for design validation.
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards and protocols (ISO 26262, CAN communication protocols).
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with battery technologies and their integration into EV systems.
  • Familiarity with thermal management considerations in BMS hardware design.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop BMS hardware architecture, including circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout, adhering to automotive safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate works with cross-functional teams including software engineers, Product Engineering, and manufacturing teams to integrate BMS hardware into overall EV systems.
  • Conduct simulations, analyses, and tests to validate and optimize BMS hardware performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations relevant to BMS hardware design (e.g., ISO 26262, UL standards).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance BMS hardware design processes and capabilities.
  • Support prototype builds, testing, and debugging of BMS hardware, identifying and resolving issues throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure BMS hardware meets project requirements and timelines.
  • Awareness with advancements in BMS technology, contributing insights and innovative solutions to enhance product performance and competitiveness.
Educational Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 1- 5 of experience in designing hardware for Battery Management Systems (BMS) in automotive or similar industries.
